Printed colour swatches
It is very difficult to tell the exact tone of a printed colour from a screen. To help you make a more informed choice, you can get a printed colour palette.
The 20x20cm size has the 40 named colours.
The larger 50x65cm palette has 242 colours. Below each shade you will see a #code. These can be entered into the 'custom code for interior decorators' box which you will find below the named colours when ordering fabric or a sample of a design.

Frequently asked questions:
I would like bespoke coloured fabric - what is the process?
1. Find a design that you would like to work on and visit that page. Click on the colours to create a mockup of the design in your colours.
2. ALWAYS order a sample as screens vary and are not always an accurate representation of the printed article. We recommend ordering a printed colour palette at the same time (see 'Colour Palettes' in the main menu.
3. If you are happy with your sample, proceed to order lengths of fabric.
If the sample is not quite right, revisit the design page to create a new one, using references from the physical colour palettes. Once you have received a sample that you are happy with, then you are ready to order your fabric.
Please feel free to email with any particular questions : Henrietta@fromthenhouse.co.uk.
Is digital printing as good as traditional screen printing?
Yes! We use pigment inks applied to fabric through an inkjet printer as opposed to through a screen or roller (which are the traditional techniques). The pigment inks have good light fast properties, are durable and eco-friendly. The system can reproduce the character of hand printing but with the advantages of flexible quantities and speed.
What is the fabric suitable for?
We work with top quality fabrics.
The fabrics are intended for use in domestic interiors. You will find details including suggested uses for each fabric in the dropdown details below the 'add to cart' button on each of the design pages.
For commecial projects, additional treatments such as flame retardancy may be required. We may be able to source alternatives fabrics for a cormercial project through our printers. Please contact me, Henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk
Where is it made?
Everything is designed and then printed in the United Kingdom. The origin of the fabrics is noted in the individual notes which you will find if you scroll down the product pages.
What happens if I need more than 10 metres? or a half metre increment?
Our printers currently print a maximum single piece length of 10 metres. If you need more than this, we suggest you look at where a cut can be made. For example if you are making curtains and need 4 drops of 3 metres, you can order 2 x 6 metre pieces or 1 x 9 metre and a 1 x 3 metre piece. The printers will ensure there is a good colour match between the pieces.
The printers only print whole metres (except for the samples) and so sadly, we can only offer full metres or sample sizes.
Each product page gives details of the design repeat to help you calculate the required length(s).Please check fabric details for potential shrinkage in processing.
When will I receive my order?
The printers usually dispatch the order in 1-2 weeks and they send your order directly to you. It could take slightly longer over public holidays and very busy periods. We are at the mercy of their production schedules but have found them to be very efficient.
With apologies, we currently only supply to the UK.
What is your returns policy?
We will refund or replace goods which are faulty. As all items are printed especially for you, we can not accept them back unless there is a fault.
Natural flaws in the fabric such as slubs in the weave are not considered defects. Our fabric printers are proud of their colour accuracy but the depth of colour between print runs may vary slightly due to the natural fibres in the fabrics and this is not considered a defect. Please order enough fabric in one go to finish your project to avoid this problem.
Please inspect your order upon receipt. Please notify us immediately or within 21 days of receipt, of a problem (do not cut into the fabric as this will invalidate your claim).
To request a return, you can contact me at henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk. Please quote the order number and give details of the fault (attach photos where relevent).
If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
You can always contact us for any return question at henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk.
