Please read the accepted fault tolerances notes from our printers in the drop down section below.

Cotton linen mix fabric

This is a beautiful white plain weave fabric. It has linen slubs which give it some texture. It is suited to blinds, curtains, cushions and pelmets, bed valences and light/occasional use upholstery (not for heavy traffic areas).

Fibre content: 94% cotton 6% linen, 228gsm, usable printed width 135cm.

Care: Wash on cool cycle 30oC and delicate tumble dry on low heat. Iron on a medium heat (2 dot iron). Do not bleach and do not dry clean.

This fabric is digitally printed with OEKO-TEX Eco Passport Certified water based pigment Inks (NEP 1612). These inks work well in situations where they are exposed to natural sunlight as they are inherently UV resistant. The inks are 'Ecocert' certified ink which means it is independently checked to ensure they have been made in an environmentally and socially responsible way.

The fabric is sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative. It is woven in Pakistan and printed in the UK.

If this fabric is required for commercial projects, you may need to consider an appropriate treatment as cotton/linen is not inherently flame retardant.

Fabric fault and printing tolerances

These are the tolerances that our printers work to. It is assumed that you find them acceptable when you proceed with an order:

Dimensions

Fabrics are printed with a tolerance of +/-0.1mm but environmental factors can shrink or expand fabric after printing.
Fabric is considered acceptable if the printed area is accurate within +/- 2%

Faults

Fabrics are inherently susceptible to faults
such as loose fibres and surface variation. Fabric is considered acceptable if
the printed area contains:

  • No more than 5 faults measuring less than 1mm per linear metre
  • No more than 1 fault measuring up to 3mm per linear metre
  • No faults measuring over 3mm

Unprinted
Areas

Faults outside the printed area are considered
acceptable.

Reverse

Faults on the reverse of the printed side of
the fabric are considered acceptable unless visible from front.

Meta Data

Every order is printed with meta data so we
can identify the fabric and process your order. This is printed outside the
printed area and considered acceptable.

Shade Variation:

Please remember that cotton is a natural product and very slight shade variations can occur. These should not cause a problem for your project but please ensure that you order the full quantity of fabric for your project in one go so that the printers can ensure good colour consistency.
My printers currently print pieces up to a maximum of 10 meters in length but
will ensure good colour matching between pieces in the same order.

Returns

We will refund or replace goods which are faulty. As all items are printed especially for you, we can not accept them back unless there is a fault.

Natural flaws in the fabric such as slubs in the weave are not considered defects. Our fabric printers are proud of their colour accuracy but the depth of colour between print runs may vary slightly due to the natural fibres in the fabrics and this is not considered a defect. Please order enough fabric in one go to finish your project to avoid this problem.

Please inspect your order upon receipt. Please notify us immediately or within 21 days of receipt, of a problem (do not cut into the fabric as this will invalidate your claim).

To request a return, you can contact me at henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk. Please quote the order number and give details of the fault (attach photos where relevent).

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

You can always contact us for any return question at henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at henrietta@fromthehenhouse.co.uk.
